What to Expect

We are looking for a highly motivated andtalented engineering technician to join our Structural Testing team. Our teamis responsible for the durability and strength testing of a wide rangecomponents on the vehicle - including Chassis, Body in White and Drive Unitsystems. As a technician, you will have an active role in fabricating andbuilding test setups, executing structural strength and durability testing withhigh force hydraulic equipment and root causing system level issues. Inaddition, you will have an active role in our product's development as well asin ensuring our cars are safe and reliable according to Tesla standards. Asuccessful candidate for this role must have a strong hands-on background in anengineering environment (ideally in testing), as well as the passion and driveto get things done in a dynamic environment.

What You'll Do

Build, assemble and setup test/validation equipment and fixtures
Modification of existing or fabrication of new equipment and fixtures as required
Run tests, setup, detailed inspections, maintenance, and retrofits
Document and report issues identified during test or inspections
Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve mechanical & electrical issues discovered
Provide detailed written & verbal test status updates to key stake holders
Support engineering teams in instrumentation, data acquisition setup, and logging
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Maintain and update hydraulic actuator and related equipment as required
Less than 5% travel (mainly for training)

What You'll Bring

4 years' experience in an engineeringtechnician role
Associate Degree, 2 year Technical or Automotive Degree, Automotive OEM Test Technician training and work experience, or equivalent
Experience with fabrication equipment (e.g. Band Saw, Drill Press)
Analytical problem-solving skills & root cause analysis
Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail
Extensive knowledge of either: hydraulic or pneumatic actuators
Mill, lathe and welding experience
Knowledge of vehicle systems such as chassis systems (suspension, steering, brakes etc.), body structure etc.

Expected Compensation

$24.40 - $65.40/hour cash and stock awards benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
