The equipment design and Manufacturing Engineering teams are constantly innovating and solving complex Engineering problems.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as the SolidWorks CAD/PDM System Administrator. In this role, you will be an integral part of Tesla's product and equipment development operations. This role ensures that CAD data is well-organized, easily accessible, and the PDM system are effectively maintained and supported.

The ideal candidate will be highly knowledgeable in data management throughout the product and equipment lifecycle, developing strategies in the areas of solid modeling, PDM/PLM, Configuration Management along Manufacturing processes and industry trends.

What You'll Do
  • Define, configure, and maintain PDM access management, folder structures, data standards and workflows
  • Drive administration of CAD and PDM for configurations, software upgrades, environments, and licenses
  • Own the maintenance and administration of PDM vaults and CAD software and coordinate with external vendors to provide additional CAD, PDM, and PLM support
  • Keep oversight and management of software license needs and usage for PDM and CAD tools
  • Support commercial and purchasing teams on software budget forecasting, Statement of Work & contract reviews, licensing agreements and maintenance
  • Support integrations and data sharing amongst internal engineering disciplines and departments
  • Automate processes whether standardized through workflows, templates, and other means
  • Collaborate with the Engineering teams to develop, implement, and maintain CAD file standards, templates, libraries, and system configurations
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience as administrator with PDM software in equipment / machine / line builder industries
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks CAD process and principles
  • Experience in migrating and implementing new CAD and PDM software
  • Working knowledge of CAD license management software administration and installation
  • Familiar with Product Lifecycle Development Processes and configuration control (revisions, release level, approvals)
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team with other engineers
  • Flexibility/adaptability in a fast-paced & dynamic environment
