Supply Chain Buyer PlannerThe position is responsible for the planning and sourcing of finished good products from internal and external global sources to provide highest service levels at the lowest cost to tesa customers. The position includes but is not limited to establishing and monitoring inventory levels against forecasts, validating forecasts, achieving targeted company service levels, minimizing the company’s investment in inventory, working with the business unit via our established S&OP process which they will lead, collaborating with local and international product managers to set safety stock levels and scheduling international shipments in order to achieve customer requirements. The focus in on the finished goods which drive 80% of the volume, margin dollars and revenue for the business unit. What you will do:
Manage the processes of supporting the planning & purchasing activities relating to
purchased finished goods, for Client including:
Receiving, validating, and processing forecast numbers.
Creating and monitoring purchase orders to our manufacturing sites / 3rd party vendors to drive our finished goods stock levels while meeting/exceeding our service level requirements
Ensure supply safety and on-time delivery to customers at lowest possible cost
Evaluate customer forecast data to ensure data is being transmitted properly, check for discrepancies and work with commercial teams to include Customer Care, Product Managers and Sales to resolve any issues that could compromise supply
Establish inventory levels and system forecasts (in conjunction with Global Planning Team, Marketing and Sales)
Create a strong relationship with Customer Care, Product Managers, Warehouses, Marketing, Sales Team, our colleagues in other regions and at HQ to provide product availability and shipping information as required => Provide solutions to problems and drive necessary improvements
Responsible for product launches and phase outs in regard to supply safety and inventory risk
Data analysis:
Evaluate sales performance (actual usage) to forecast numbers, work with Marketing / Sales Team to validate
Monitor and update Master data as needed to assure maximum service levels
Challenge internal & 3rd party suppliers in regard to MOQ / lead time
Work with Customer Resolution Analyst, Marketing and Sales to solve internal problems/ customer claims. Coordinate return shipments or the destruction of material if necessary
Identify, discuss with management potential process improvements and in conjunction with team members and management implement necessary upgrades, e.g. systems, processes & procedures.
Document all processes and procedures used and update as changes are made
What you will need:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field and at least five to ten years’ experience within the supply chain planning environment preferred
Proven process improvement and project management skills
Strong day to day contributor with ability to provide a strategic direction
Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to effectively interact in multi-cultural and international environment
Ability to network and build strong relationships
Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
SAP experience regarding supply chain strongly preferred
Project work or implementation experience with SAP a plus
Able and willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%
