Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze samples
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Monitor animals during recovery from anesthesia
- Take and develop X-rays
- Perform dental cleanings
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate medical records
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology or related field
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent preferred
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and husbandry
- Proficient in animal restraint techniques
- Experience with laboratory procedures and sample analysis
- Familiarity with common veterinary medications and treatments
- Ability to handle and care for a variety of animals
- Skilled in animal catheterization and IV fluid administration
- Excellent communication skills and ability to educate pet owners on animal care
