Terran Orbital is seeking a motivated, experienced, and highly organized Production Planner to develop and maintain production schedules across our satellite and technology programs at our Irvine, CA location. As a Production planner, the candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, managers, and other stakeholders to maintain and status execution of projects and prepare performance evaluation reports. The Production Planner will oversee the production workflow for one or multiple products, planning and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay, and help determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Request and assign work and scope to production work cells
  • Coordinate and validate BOM changes and ECOS and impacts to WIP
  • Monitor production capacity and labor needs
  • Schedule shift according to production needs
  • Monitor work orders for timely completion, and track estimated versus actual hours
  • Address production issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption
  • Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc
  • Prepare and submit status and production performance reports
  • Keep work orders, change orders, ECO’s organized
  • Work with Manufacturing and Supply chain to expedite parts and provide LOB
  • Support Program/Production IMS
  • Collaborate with quality control, material planning and other functions
  • Preparing production labor cost estimates and production performance reports

Requirements

  • 4 years of experience as a project/program planner/scheduler
  • Proven track record of maintaining project schedules and providing performance reports through the project life cycle
  • Proficient in project scheduling software, such as MS Project, Primavera, Procore, or industry equivalent
  • Extensive experience in schedule planning and management
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills
  • Exceptional communication skills with multiple engineering disciplines
  • Ability to keep stakeholders informed of project timelines and changes

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, management, or a related discipline

Preferred Experience

  • Aerospace industry experience or equivalent experience in developing and maintaining project schedules for advanced technology efforts
  • Familiar with Earned Value Management reporting and metrics
  • Certification as a PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)

Salary Range: $67,000 - $90,000

Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Physical Demands  

An employee must meet the physical demands described to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. In performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to sit or stand for long durations of time, in addition to bending, reaching, and walking. This would require the ability to lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. This position is generally sedentary, with substantial computer usage. 

Work Environment  

The job operates in a professional office environment but in a manufacturing company. This job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanners.
