Internship Overview

Our technical teams focus on understanding consumer data, identify potential opportunities for future brand partnerships, and help refine the technical aspects of recycling-related processes. Ideal interns are data-driven, analytics-minded, resourceful and independent researchers able to work both independently and collaboratively. Interns will be tasked with performing data pulls, tracking KPIs, analyzing qualitative and quantitative consumer research and drawing actionable insights. Our technical teams includes our Research and Development Department which support all of our lines of business.

Research & Development interns develop recycling solutions for the different waste materials TerraCycle collects. Interns will conduct research on different materials to determine their composition and the various processes needed to recycle the waste. Ideal interns have LCA experience, are pursuing a degree in engineering or science, apt at documentation in a lab setting, and interested in learning about recycling process development. Interns will get hands-on experience learning about various plastics, and work closely with teams to develop innovative recycling solutions.

Internship Responsibilities

• Partner with the research teams to analyze data relevant to the department
• Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis for better decision making
• Additional projects as assigned

Requirements: Internship Requirements

• Must be able to commit to minimum 16 hours per week
• Must be able to report to the office a minimum of two days per week

Internship Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent GED
• Pursuing a degree in Material Science, Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, Chemistry, Metallurgy, Polymers or related field, preferred
• If enrolled in a college or university, in good academic standing
• Intermediate skill in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint & Excel
• High level of effectiveness in written, oral and digital communication
