The Teresian House is currently hiring an Activities Coordinator. This opportunity is for a Full Time, Day position and includes working every other weekend and rotating holidays!

The Activities Coordinator is responsible for: Planning, implementing, and carrying out meaningful leisure time activities for the residents under the supervision of the Director of Activities; Preparing and distributing a unit specific activity calendar prior to the 1st of each month; Submitting requests for supplies to the Activities Director and remaining conscientious of the budget; Assuring proper use and storage of tools, equipment and supplies; Encouraging all residents to participate in activities appropriate to their needs, interests, physical and mental capabilities. You will also need to; Prepare residents activity assessments as needed, documentation of each resident's response to planned activities and appropriate sections of the MDS; Support the unit and performing other duties as needed for the smooth and efficient operation of Teresian House and for the welfare of the residents.

Qualified candidates for the Activities Coordinator position will have; a high school diploma or GED with some college courses in gerontology preferred; Recent experience in recreation preferably with a geriatric population; a valid driver's license and be willing to drive a Teresian House van/bus. You will need to be able to work independently and with a team, be creative and possess good organizational skills, be detail oriented, cooperative with co-workers, considerable initiative and judgement needed to carry out recreational events. Candidate will need to be CPR certified or willing to take certification class within 60 days of hire and will need to work 1-2 evening programs per month.
