Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation is Hiring a Marketing Communication Intern Near Woodland, CA

Our unique approach brings together researchers with expertise in various fields, including biomedical imaging, biosensing, biomechanics, engineered/synthetic biology, nano/biomaterials, artificial intelligence, and informatics. Our interns work together to solve real-world challenges, sometimes spurring innovations that may even change the way we do business! You will gain real life experience as part of TIBI’s Innovation support within a start-up in the biotech/biomedical field, to develop an external communication social media campaign relating to their products and markets as well as create content for use on web sites.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Students participating in the Marketing track will learn and gain an understanding about the following:

  • Learn the fundamentals of business communication, scientific communication, and mast social media business communication.
  • Understand biotech product lifecycles.
  • Understand how to assess new and emerging markets for biotech products.
  • Develop quantitative skills for impact assessments.
  • Learn how to estimate ROIs in innovation.
  • Understand basic development process for intellectual properties (IPs) such as patents.
  • Understand how to value IPs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Active undergraduate student in their Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year
  • Demonstrated academic achievement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Enthusiastic and has a growth mindset, ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and priorities, adaptable, a critical thinker, organized and collaborative.
  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor and strict confidentiality of employee and company information.
  • Needs to be competent in MS Office
  • Have some understanding biomedical product lifecycle
  • Strong research skills required (online)

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Any offer is conditioned upon successful completion of a background investigation.

TIME COMMITMENT

This is a 12 WEEK unpaid internship.
