**Internship**

Our summer internship program lasts 10-12 weeks beginning in May/June and ending in August/September. Fast-paced, flexible, fun. The Teradata culture isnt just about one kind of person. **Our Team**

The Teradata Data Mover team is distributed across multiple locations and provides a critical set of Java based tools to copy data efficiently and reliably from one Teradata system to another either on-premises to on-premises, on-premises to cloud, or from cloud to cloud.

**Your Opportunity**

Embed yourself in a fun but hard-working agile development team to enhance a Java centric tool that is used by many Fortune 500 companies.

**Key Areas of Responsibility:**

* Java programming in various areas of the product with development projects varying in size and scope.

* Design, code, and test to implement enhancements and resolve bugs.

* Develop test scripts for execution in continuous build and test automation environments.

* Work independently, with an assigned mentor and with other members of a very strong development team in challenging and interesting research assignments.

**Job Requirements:**

* Actively pursuing a BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related discipline.

* Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.

* Strong Java programming skills.

* Knowledge of relational database technology and SQL.

* Good understanding of UNIX and/or Windows operating systems (kernel, file systems, memory management, TCP/IP, etc.).

* Candidate needs to work effectively in a development team environment and have good time and resource management skills

**Preferred Requirements:**

* Exposure to or experience on an Agile development team working with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, and Git.

* Familiarity of Bourne sh and Korn ksh shell scripting, UNIX and/or Windows system administration.
