Our manufacturing client, located in Plymouth, Michigan, is an award winning, industry leader in remanufacturing of automotive transmissions, with a commitment to quality that is unsurpassed in the automotive industry.

We are currently recruiting for a safety professional to lead our client’s health, safety, and environmental initiatives.

Responsibilities include :

• Support the EHS supervisor in the provision of a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors and to achieve continuous improvement and a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness by ensuring that risks in the workplace are properly controlled and that impacts on the environment are minimized
• Maintain written environmental and safety programs and procedures in accordance with ISO14001, and corporate environmental, health, safety, and ergonomics requirements
• Support the EHS supervisor in maintaining monthly HSE KPI s.
• Help administer plant safety rules and regulations
• Assist in the investigation of accidents and injuries and with implementation of corrective actions
• Conduct safety inspections
• Support the EHS supervisor in all aspects of the plant emergency response procedures, evacuation plans, applicable employee training, and performance of routine drills.
• Participate in the Safety Committee and the Emergency Response Team
• Support employee suggestion and continuous improvement programs.
• Perform AED inspections
• Monitor and maintain First Aid supply inventory

Role Requirements :

• 1- 3 years of related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and industrial safety
• Computer skills in Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
