Job Description:

Work with the Operations Manager - Production & the other Production Superintendent to implement improvement strategies that will help the site perform more effectively. Evaluate individual team member’s performances and develop their skills to align with personal/company goals through coaching. Keep abreast of the supervisorial and technical competencies within the industry. Actively lead the training, retraining, development, and motivation of production team on his/her shift with a minimum degree of guidance from the Production Superintendent.

Essential Job Functions

This is a working management position responsible for multiple areas of production on one shift of a multi-shift operation. Production Superintendent will coordinate all activities of their area within established guidelines and standards to produce the highest quality product in the safest and most efficient manner. This position will lead a team in their area of responsibility and conduct/coordinate all training for the team while enforcing established policies and business objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day production schedules and plant activities
• Manage the training and development of production staff
• Ensure that production stays on schedule and within budget
• Monitor production personnel to ensure that performance and safety requirements are met
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety programs
• Focus on efficiency improvements in the production process and surrounding environment
• Maximize the production process to minimize cost and maximize output
• Cross-train work teams for maximum production flexibility
• Coordinate maintenance and repair of machines to avoid downtime

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• 3-5 years in a supervisory management position
• Excellent management skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in manufacturing field
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, six sigma tools and problem solving methodology for elimination of waste and optimization of labor efficiencies
• Strong belief in Teamwork and Cross Training
• Encourages excellence in others through being a positive influence in the development of team.
• Customer focus, meets expectations, internally and externally, forms partnerships
• Strong communication skills: verbal and written across all three shifts
• Demonstrates the ability to develop staff
• Possess conflict management skills and a good understanding of self-directed work teams
• Able to effectively drive change management
• Establish goals and objectives for hourly associates and Line Leads and provide performance feedback on a regular basis.
• Perform all other duties assigned by your manager.

Physical Demands:

Must possess mobility to work in a standard warehouse setting and work with and around a variety of equipment, parts, and inventory, to operate a motor vehicle and forklift; strength, stamina, and mobility to perform medium physical work; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio. The job involves walking and working on slippery surfaces. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator. Positions in this classification bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb to perform work. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds and heavier weights with the proper equipment. All employees must wear company approved safety glasses while in the plant and distribution areas.

Environmental Elements:

Employees primarily work in the warehouse and are exposed to loud noise levels, vibration, chemicals, dust, mechanical hazards, and moving objects or other vehicles. May be exposed to cold and hot temperatures, inclement weather conditions, mechanical hazards, and hazardous physical substances and fumes. Employees may interact with staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
