Position Purpose

Implement the conduct of Maintenance by ensuring that all routine maintenance, planned and unplanned outages, major improvement maintenance optimization activities are scheduled, implemented and performed in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner.

Job Dimensions

Supervisory Responsibility - Manage up to 18 employees, including Maintenance Coordinators and represented employees

Budget Responsibility - Assist Power Operations Maintenance Manager with Maintenance Budget Plans.

Principal Accountabilities

• Sets standard that are duties are prioritized in the following order : 1. Safety; 2. Environmental; 3. Assets; 4. Megawatts.
• Supervise the implementation and control of all maintenance related activities, including outages, maintenance optimization efforts and assigned resources.
• Directs the development and implementation of the rolling schedule process, including resolving schedule conflicts. Works with site management to determine component outages and long range scheduling needs.
• Directs the development and approves plan-of-the-day (POD) agenda material.
• Translates the maintenance and work week goals and integrates them into work unit process activities objectives.
• Assess work unit process activities against process objectives
• Facilitate root cause analysis and ensures development of action plans.
• Manages and directs activities including number of material acquisitions, support conflict resolution, procurement review, management directions and focus, and coordination of engineering and technical organizations in conflict resolutions.
• Accountable for setting priorities for procurement and authorizing of necessary resources to ensure work is accomplished in accordance with the Site budget and schedule.
• Accountable for directing, managing, and delivering corrective actions for work that is not meeting approved scope, schedule, and cost.
• Promote an atmosphere of strong teamwork that creates an operational focus and environment of continued improvement of desired employee behaviors utilizing TVA values and leadership competencies.
• Provide oversight and guidance for the development of newly selected maintenance supervisors / coordinators.
• Accountable for the review, authorization, and implementation of immediate attention to maintenance on plant systems and equipment.
• Successful completion of required training and maintain up to date safety and regulatory training.

Minimum Requirements

Experience. -

• Three (3) years of supervisory experience in power plant maintenance and operations or five (5) years experience in power plant maintenance and operations of which two (2) years are in a supervisory capacity or demonstrated team / project lead experience
• Experience with all TVA computer applications and schedules
• Knowledge / Skills / Abilities - Must be able to communicate effectively with employees and management at all levels. Ability to be innovative and future focused;

work well under pressure with changing priorities and effectively manage programs and personnel. Comprehensive knowledge of environmental and safety standards for protection of personnel and equipment.

Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position / access requirements and essential job functions.
