We are seeking an Assistant Director of Nutritional Services to support our dietary operations within our organization. The Assistant Director will assist in planning, organizing, and supervising the activities of the nutritional services department to provide quality food service and nutritional care.
**Responsibilities:**
1. Assist in developing menus, ensuring compliance with dietary standards, and overseeing food preparation and service.
2. Help in managing inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling costs within budgetary constraints.
3. Supervise staff, including training, scheduling, and evaluating performance to maintain high standards of service.
4. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure that nutritional requirements of patients, residents, or clients are met.
5. Monitor and assess the quality and safety of food services, ensuring adherence to sanitation and safety regulations.
6. Develop and make recommendations to implement dietary and food service policies and procedures to meet residents' needs and in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
7. Assist the food service supervisor to determine the personnel requirements for the dietary department and to make recommendations for sufficient staff to implement dietary and food service policies and procedures.
8. Develop a monitoring system for the dietary and food service department and make all recommendations for implementation to assure compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
9. Develop menus to meet residents' dietary needs.
10. Assis the food service supervisor to assess residents' dietary needs and develop appropriate dietary plans in compliance with physician's order.
**Qualifications:**
1. Bachelor's degree in Food Service Management, Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.
2. Proven experience in food service management, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting.
3. Strong knowledge of nutritional standards, food safety regulations, and menu planning.
4. Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively coordinate and motivate staff.
5. Ability to analyze data, manage budgets, and make sound decisions to optimize nutritional services.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
1. Certification as a Dietary Manager (CDM) or Registered Dietitian (RD).
This role may require standing for extended periods, working in a fast-paced environment, and occasional lifting of equipment or supplies. The Assistant Director of Nutritional Services may need to work evenings, weekends, or holidays based on operational needs.
