Title: Activities Coordinator Team: Conference Centers

Group: Mission Support Work Location: Conference Center

General Classification: Ministry Assistant (Non-Exempt)

Immediate Supervisor: Conference Center Manager

Principal Function: Coordinate and facilitate Three Strands Ministries, group set-ups, summer staff coordination, assist in programming, and assist with marketing.

Essential Functions: (Employee must be spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally able to fulfill these assignments and tasks to fill this position.)

1. Conduct assigned ministry with “Christ-Like Servant Spirit”, guided by TBMB mission, priorities, strategies, and goals.
2. Contribute to all phases of responsibilities to the Mission and Objectives of the organization.
3. Exercise discipline to complete tasks and work alone with general supervision.
4. Provide support and assistance to assigned group and other groups within the organization, while building and maintaining positive working relationships.
5. Travel occasionally to various events as well as work overtime and irregular hours, as necessary.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Coordinate facilities set-up of meetings room/spaces for guests including chairs, tables, audio visual equipment and campfires.
2. Facilitate the operation of audio-visual equipment as needed as a service to groups. Provide brief training to groups on the operation of audio-visual equipment.
3. Assist Manager and Assistant Manager with in-house marketing, contact group leaders to promote “add-on” activities to enhance their retreat experience and participate in off-site promotional events.
4. Coordinate and supervise summer camp season camp facility cleaning, setups, and turn-overs. Must be able to supervise multiple cleaning and set-up teams.
5. Provide general grounds maintenance and light maintenance work.
6. Coordinate regular inspections and repairs of the Challenge course and Paintball areas, including equipment.
7. Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment of all recreation areas.
8. Supervise and schedule employees for training and work of all Three Strands Ministries events.
9. Coordinate swimming pool operation including overseeing the maintenance and safe operation of the pool during the summer.
10. Assist manager in programming special events such as Off the Grid project and DNow weekends.
11. Perform all other duties as needed or assigned.

1. Frequently stands, walks, reaches hands and arms, pushes/pulls, lifts, and carries thirty (30) pounds.
2. Must be able to swim and complete and maintain lifeguard and CPR certifications.
3. Occasionally works at desk, uses telephone, utilizes computer keyboard and mouse, and verbally communicates with co-workers and guests in work area.
4. Occasionally squats, crawls, climbs up to 50 ft., reaches above shoulders, kneels, balances, identifies, and distinguishes colors, carries, or lifts up to 50 pounds.
5. Works around moving machinery, exposed to changes in temperature and humidity, and dust, fumes, and gases.
6. Able to drive a vehicle.

Qualifications

Credentials and experience:

1. Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
2. Experience: One to three years related experience
3. Certifications: Lifeguard

Knowledge and Skills:

1. Challenge Course Facilitator training, Paintball Facilitator training, Zipline Facilitator training
2. Participate in on-going staff training and development opportunities.
3. Basic knowledge of operation of sound systems and video equipment
4. Knowledge of interviewing, policies & procedures, scheduling, and supervising
5. Ideal candidates will be able to thrive under pressure and maintain a positive attitude while serving guests and camp staff.
