This position will lead new controls/plant automation projects, champion Best Methods teams and standardization processes. It will also provide support to all areas (Engineering - advanced, program, or development, Manufacturing, Commercial, Quality, etc.) where controls engineering expertise is required, including launch support and customer initiatives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute to or lead Advanced Engineering projects to develop new or improved processes and innovations to provide value for Tenneco.
  • Support Operations by troubleshooting, maintaining, and programming Plant Automation.
  • Fulfill EMSEC Technician role by championing and supporting Tenneco Machine Safety Standard policies and procedures
  • Planning and coordinating infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules and activities.
  • Designing and overseeing the implementation of facility expansion, layout, various systems, and quality controls.
  • Complete TMSS machine risk assessments per the TMSS guidelines and templates.
  • Create software requirements documentation, contribute to software peer reviews, conduct software unit testing and participate in software validation requirements definition.
  • Attend training sessions, seminars, and conferences to expand job knowledge and skills and network with professional colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
  • Responsible for programming and designing PLC controls for new equipment.
  • Develop and maintain requirements books and best practices library, yielding work instructions, design guidelines, process flows, and standardization techniques while ensuring compliance to regulations, building codes and health and safety standards.
  • Gathering and analyzing data, blueprints, and reports from plant automation.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor Degree in Electronics (or similar discipline) preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-3 years of prior experience

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens and Fanuc robotics strongly preferred
  • Experience with industrial automation equipment and robotics.
  • HMI programming understanding of basic concepts, familiar with PanelView Plus and PanelView hardware. Ability to use RS View Studio and Panel Builder software
  • Experience with controls hardware design a necessity.
  • Understanding of vision systems. Ability to design, diagnose and troubleshoot vision applications.
  • Ethernet networking experience
  • Self-motivated with good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SAP, and MS Office.
  • Knowledge of the building process and construction principles.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and building codes.
