This position will lead the site's continuous improvement initiatives designed to eliminate non-value-added activities while improving operational excellence. This position ensures existing processes maintain a high level of performance while continuously reviewing and refining those processes. Will be responsible for the establishment of an operational excellence culture throughout all plant operations with emphasis on sustainable development.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage CI Projects as assigned, typically within a local region or business unit.
  • Perform gap analysis to identify deficiencies in business processes and programs and recommending adjustments to programs and/or processes.
  • Link process deficiencies directly to the bottom-line impact.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams formed to implement change and drive continuous improvement.
  • Drive mixed model value stream implementation projects with a focus on continuous improvement of safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Use appropriate problem-solving tools to provide rapid improvement with sustainable results.
  • Ensure adherence to standard processes for data collection, documentation, and reporting.
  • Plan a budget and manage costs related to operational excellence initiatives.
  • Directly supervise, train and mentor full-time CI assigned resources.
  • Manage building project and CI project plans, including resources, timeline, critical paths, etc.
  • Manage diverse CI strategies for transactional and manufacturing operations.
  • Participate in operational continuous improvement reviews with Local and Regional Management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 10 years' experience in operations required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification required.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and leading continuous improvement projects.
  • Must have thorough understanding of cycle time reduction, waste reduction, yield improvement, productivity, and throughputimprovement.
  • Hands-on experience using Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement methods (LEAN, TPM, Six Sigma, TQM).
  • Proven leadership skills to coach and lead teams to fully deliver chartered objectives and projects.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills in planning and organizing to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Advanced problem-solving capabilities, attention to detail and numerical aptitude.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to sit frequently for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to move about the plant in both the office and manufacturing areas.
  • Manual dexterity for computer work.
  • Often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and lift up to 20 lbs
  • Vision abilities required include close vision
  • Travel is primarily local during the business day; overnight travel may be expected 10% of the time.
  • Ability to communicate in an effective manner.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Office environment which includes, but is not limited to, artificial lighting, computers, telephones, desks, temperature controlled. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
  • Manufacturing environment which includes, but is not limited to, artificial lighting, machine/equipment noise, some welding exhaust, non-controlled temperatures, and PPE required.
