We are currently seeking Registered Nurses to work in a school setting. In this position you will cover any acute care needs in the school (including the three “B’s' of school nursing - bumps, bruises and bellyaches) and provide health information to students, teachers, principals and parents.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop care plans for students with ongoing conditions.
• Consult with teachers, school administrators and other school staff regarding student care.
• Administer medication as required by doctors orders.
• Collaborate with school personnel and parents.
• Provide emergency treatment as needed to staff and students.
• Monitor student immunization records.
• Educate students and staff on health procedures.
• Perform hearing, vision and other health screenings.

Skills:

• State of Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Previous school nursing/substitute nursing experience
• Bachelors Degree in Nursing
• Knowledge of school laws and policies
• BLS/CPR and First Aid certifications
• Knowledge of state health regulations
