Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and dental hygienist to provide quality patient care. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with dental procedures, taking patient x-rays, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a clean and sterile environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
- Take and develop patient x-rays
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Prepare materials for impressions and restorations
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Manage inventory of dental supplies and equipment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- Current certification in dental assisting preferred
- Knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology
- Proficiency in patient assessment techniques
- Experience with dental software (CAD, Eaglesoft, Dentrix) preferred
- Familiarity with medical coding for dental procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
