Temple University, Office of Physician & Faculty Recruitment is Hiring a Physician Assistant Program- Director of Didactic Education Near Philadelphia, PA

Summary of Position

The Physician Assistant Program at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University is seeking qualified candidates and candidate nominations for the role of Director of Didactic Education.

The Director of Didactic Education will work closely with the Program Director, Associate Program Director, Program Faculty and staff in the administrative oversight, design, implementation and evaluation of the program’s curriculum, in alignment with accreditation standards in addition to teaching, student assessment or development of student assessment tools, and small group facilitation in the didactic curriculum.

Temple’s Physician Assistant Program was granted Accreditation-Continued status by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). Our first group of students entered the program in the summer of 2016 and graduated in 2018.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities• Collaborate with LKSOM clinical and basic science faculty in addition to the PA Program Director and other PA Program faculty to develop and implement the program’s didactic curriculum to meet Temple University and ARC-PA Standards; • Review and maintain didactic syllabi including learning outcomes, expected competencies, evaluation tools for students, faculty and content in accordance with ARC-PA Standards;• Ensure that the didactic curriculum and evaluation methodology meet current practice standards as they relate to the Physician Assistant role in providing patient care in accordance with ARC-PA and NCCPA standards for education and training;• Oversee the design, implementation, mapping and evaluation of the program didactic courses/curriculum;• Participate in program continuous and periodic self-study activities;• Assist in program evaluation in accordance with accreditation requirements• Participate in teaching, course/curriculum development and small group facilitation in the didactic curriculum;• Serve as course director for courses in the didactic curriculum as assigned; Participate in the LKSOM Interprofessional education programs;• Evaluate student performance in concert with the program director and other PA faculty;• Advise and mentor PA students;• Participate in PA Program, LKSOM and Temple University committees as assigned

Candidate Qualifications• Minimum of a Master degree relevant to physician assistant education and/or practice.• Current NCCPA certification• Proficiency in MS Office applications• Ability to obtain physician assistant licensure in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania.• 5 years of relevant working experience in the clinical and academic setting
