We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Lead Teacher for our preschool program.

The applicant needs to be dependable, flexible, organized and have a good sense of humor. The applicant needs to have a nurturing personality with good judgement. You will need to be a self starter as well as a team player.

Hours Monday - Thursday 8:30 - 4:00 Friday 8:30 - 3:00 Full time position

Responsibilities and Duties

• Experience in writing lesson plans and implementing them within the classroom
• Working in learning centers with age appropriate activities.
• Enjoy reading stories, singing songs, creating group activities and leading circle time
• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
• Encourage children to interact with each other and be a role model on conflict resolution
• Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
• Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
• Work as a team with all employees and your assistant in the classroom
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
• Take initiative while working in the classroom

Qualifications and Experience

45 hours of Mandated Classes completed
CDA or Associate's Degree completed

Must be able to pass a complete background check
Physically capable of lifting, balancing, walking , stooping, standing and sitting on the floor
Proficient in English
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Basic computer skills, (send emails, google docs)
2 years working with young children in a childcare setting
CPR and First Aid a plus
