Job description
We are seeking a reliable and well-rounded Equipment Tech/Maintenance
Assistant to join our Maintenance team to support our 8 cafes and warehouse.
The Role: As an Equipment Tech/Maintenance Assistant, you will report directly to
the Maintenance Manager. This position works with a sense of urgency to ensure
our Equipment and facilities remain in good operating condition. Responsibilities
include performing general maintenance for coffee equipment and repair of the
buildings, grounds, and landscapes. You will also communicate with our location
managers to evaluate their requests and needs, as well as communicate and be a
contact for outside contractors performing work for our company.

Equipment and Maintenance Responsibilities:
● Provides exceptional customer service to our locations with every
interaction and delivers high-quality maintenance service
● Complete assigned work orders generated by the Maintenance Manager
and COO, as well as preventative maintenance on the property by
diagnosing the source or cause of the concern, and making repairs in
accordance with established policies, procedures, safety standards, and
code requirements
● Addresses needs of coffee equipment to ensure proper function, which may
include installation, preventative, and repair for brewers, grinders, espresso
machines, and other service equipment
● Use of a variety of hand tools including but not limited to power tools and
electric meters
● Read and interpret manuals and work instructions to perform needed
maintenance tasks
● Assists in maintaining exterior spaces by pressure-washing as needed,
refinishing table tops, and maintaining greenery
● Works with the Maintenance Manager to conduct routine property
inspections to identify potential safety concerns, keep the property in good
repair, and communicate the needs of the property to the appropriate
parties
● Follows procedures for accessing and obtaining materials, supplies,
equipment, tools, and other items from the property's maintenance
department by tracking inventory used, returning unused items to the
established location, and notifying the Maintenance Manager about re-
ordering needs
● Maintains organization of department needs at our warehouse facility
● Performs duties related to the opening of new future locations
Standards
● Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Company and
departmental policies, procedures, and standards by immediately reporting
any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, or other safety issues
to the appropriate individual(s)
● Complies with safety policies per OSHA and other safety-related laws and
requirements
● Follows established company SOPs, policies, and procedures
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
● Frequent standing, bending, climbing ladders, and walking
● Reading, comprehending, writing, performing calculations, verbal and
written communication
● May work in an elevated site, and may walk on uneven ground
● Squatting, bending neck/waist, twisting neck/waist, pushing, and pulling
● Regular lifting of 50lbs (weights of 50 would be lifted with assistance)
Qualifications:
● 2 years minimum maintenance or related experience required (experience
with coffee, espresso, and tea equipment is a plus.)
● Hands-on maintenance skills including basic knowledge of plumbing,
electrical, general carpentry, HVAC
● Ability to test AC/DC voltage, ohms, and amperage using a multimeter.
● Ability to interpret hydraulic and electrical diagrams.
● Critical thinking skills to troubleshoot using deductive reasoning.
● Availability to assist with emergency needs that may occur evenings and
weekends/outside normally scheduled hours
● A positive and professional attitude, exceptional attendance/promptness,
and the desire to learn and develop your skills
● Exceptional customer service and verbal communication skills
● Able to work both independently and as a member of a small team
● Ability to meet deadlines and complete weekly checklist tasks
● Basic computer knowledge, Windows (Word, Excel), scan, e-mail
● Must be willing to travel for training if deemed needed for company needs.
● Valid driver's license and clean driving record (Work van provided for daily
use. May need to use personal vehicle on occasion where mileage would be
reimbursed)
● Must pass a background check and drug screening
Scheduling:
● Regular scheduling for this role is Monday through Friday 8 am-430 pm
scheduling adjustments may occur in order to meet business needs.
● Shifts for certain recurring/routine tasks would begin as early as 5:30am or
as late as 4:30pm. These times do not account for emergency needs which
may arise late nights/early mornings including weekends.
