Medical Billing Specialist for a thriving healthcare company in
Clearwater , FL .
Job Summary : The ideal candidate will compile, review, and process billing and accounts receivable documents, insurance bills and payments, and prepares and maintains all accounts receivable and patient service revenue records and reports. Job responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Prepares, reviews, and submits monthly billings according to established procedures.
Reviews patient billing revenues for accuracy and records all payments as received.
Performs monthly reconciliation of cash receipts; and maintains accounts receivable records and reports.
Processing customer and account source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies; resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents.
Maintaining data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures.
Reviews and corrects accounts receivable bills/records before transmission or mailing.
Manage clearing rejections, denials and returned claims, performing all necessary follow-up to ensure collection of payments from Medicare/Medicaid and Insurance providers.
Completes billing audits to ensure accuracy and/or compliance.
Receives and answers inquiries from insurance sources/Case Managers regarding patient status or obtaining updated authorizations.
Contacts Medical Records as needed to acquire any information and records needed for billing.
Coordinates the compilation and submission of information needed for Medicaid and Medicaid managed care providers, including obtaining authorizations
May be required to perform duties that are not included in this job description. Qualifications/Requirements:
1-2 years of billing experience
Keen attention to detail with strong computer and data entry skills.
Reliable and prompt, arriving at work on time every day.
