Tempe School District is Hiring a Child Find Specialist Near Tempe, AZ
JOB DESCRIPTION: Coordinate the implementation of 3-5 year old Child Find Special Education evaluations and Special Education screenings for the developmental preschool program in the district. QUALIFICATIONS:
Arizona Teaching Certificate
Special Education and/or Early Childhood certification (preferred)
Experience teaching or supervising early childhood programs
Possess a working knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and practices
Ability to coordinate activities with related and specialist staff
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, parents, and the community; excellent human relationship skills, skill in both oral and written communication; ability to work in a multicultural environment with diverse population of students, staff, and parents
Ability to communicate findings to stakeholders and assist stakeholders in the Child Find process

Oversee the Child Find evaluation process for 3-5 year olds
Follow state and district standards Early Childhood Child Find
Prepare and conduct Childhood Development Assessments (CDA) and Child Find evaluations for the students ages 3-5 who are suspected and referred for Special Education evaluations
Collaborate with the Child Find team and Student Support designee to maintain Child Find data, records, instructional decision-making, program evaluation, and placement
Provide professional development and ongoing training for teachers.
Attend professional growth opportunities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
