TITLE: Chairperson – Assistant Health Services

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provide leadership to district health services staff in providing services to special education or identified students; coordinating these services with others in the Student Support Department. Act as a liaison between nurses and Student Support Personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current Tempe School District No. 3 Employee
• Current Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Three (3) years clinical experience as a school nurse (preferred)
• Valid Arizona Driver’s License

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate, plan and facilitate regularly scheduled meetings with health services staff.
• Participate in recruiting, screening, and interviewing applicants.
• Provide leadership in the area of in-service education and staff professional development for health services staff.
• Represent Health Services at district meetings.
• Provide leadership and direction in the development and maintenance of the District Health Services Program in concert with the goals of the district.
• Assure compliance with state-mandated programs.
• Provide support, training, resources, consultation and technical oversight for compliance with Standards of School Nurse Practice and Health safety laws.
• Provide contact and collaboration with community health agencies.
• Ensure uniformity of service provision through consultation with site personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
