TITLE: Teacher

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Create a program favorable to learning for three to five year-old children in a literacy-rich preschool environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Arizona Early Childhood Education certification
2. Experience with three to five year-old children (preferred)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct appropriate academic screening and ongoing observational assessments.
• Maintain accurate records for documentation of student progress.
• Maintain compliance with all DHS licensing regulations and accreditation criteria.
• Set-up and maintain a safe, literacy rich, and engaging early childhood environment.
• Plan and set-up appropriate standards-based early learning activities for preschool children.
• Plan, conduct and/or participate in in-service activities.
• Maintain on-going communication (verbal and written) with parents of students.
• Direct activities of instructional assistants.
• Provide performance evaluation input regarding instructional assistant(s) to school administrator.
• Attend all necessary training and department meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

REPORTS TO: Principal, Coordinator of Student Support, and/or Director of Student Support

EVALUATION: Teacher Evaluation
