We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Hardware Certificate Administrator to join our team in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment. As a Hardware Certificate Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring that hardware components and devices meet stringent compliance and security standards. This role requires expertise in certification processes, security protocols, and a thorough understanding of the regulatory landscape in a DoD context.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Certification Management: Oversee and manage the end-to-end certification processes for hardware components in compliance with DoD standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that hardware designs align with certification criteria.
  • Security Integration: Implement and validate security features, encryption protocols, and authentication mechanisms in hardware designs to meet DoD security standards. Conduct thorough security assessments to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
  • Compliance Testing: Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans to validate hardware components' compliance with DoD specifications. Ensure adherence to relevant industry standards and certifications applicable to DoD operations.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of certification processes, test results, and compliance reports. Generate and deliver regular reports to stakeholders, including management and regulatory bodies.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with hardware designers, software engineers, quality assurance teams, and external certification bodies to address compliance and security requirements. Coordinate with external agencies involved in the certification process within the DoD framework.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct vulnerability assessments to identify potential risks in hardware designs and propose effective mitigation strategies. Analyze and document risks associated with hardware components.
  • Continuous Education: Stay informed about the latest developments in DoD compliance standards, security protocols, and emerging technologies. Pursue ongoing education and training to remain current on relevant certifications and best practices.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 1 years of experience (junior level position)
  • DoD 8570.01-M Baseline Certifications for IAT Level II (CompTIA Security )
  • Proven experience in hardware certification processes within a DoD environment.
  • Strong understanding of DoD security policies, frameworks, and compliance standards.
  • Experience with encryption protocols, secure boot processes, and other security mechanisms.
  • Proficiency in conducting security assessments and risk analysis for hardware components.
  • Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for interaction with cross-functional teams and external agencies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware certification and security-related issues.
  • An active DoD Secret Clearance is required or the ability to obtain one.
  • The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements to access sensitive information, which requires US citizenship.
