Tellepsen is looking for a Project Accountant.

Job Purpose

Supports the project staff in order to assure administrative and general accounting tasks are completed in a timely and orderly manner. Serve as the primary liaison from accounting to all client representatives, operations team members, and subcontractors.

Duties and Responsibilities

Vendor Contracts:

  • Prepare vendor set up information (set up form, W-9, etc.) when vendor is not required to be prequalified
  • Follow through with subcontractor prequalification process for project vendors
  • Process and track subcontracts, purchase orders and work orders
  • Route subcontractor approval forms for project vendors
  • Set up vendors in Pay Application software
  • Process and track change orders
  • Prepare payments to subcontractors upon funding
  • Record receipt of compliance items
  • Track and report job specific items, such as certified payroll and owner-controlled insurance programs
  • Prepare and collect lien waivers from subcontractors
  • Track supplier lien notices and obtain releases
  • Prepare funding notice to subcontractor
  • Post cash receipts
  • Process allocations
  • Assist with Work in Progress reporting
  • Process and pay work order invoices
  • Process joint check payments
  • Process retainage payments

Owner Contract:

  • Prepare owner billings
  • Review schedule of value amounts against budget
  • Notarize documents

Miscellaneous:

  • Assist with audit inquiries
  • Answer subcontractor inquiries
  • Answer project management inquiries

Qualifications:

  • Two-year college degree or equivalent working experience
  • Experience working as part of a team
  • Expertise with the Microsoft Office suite of products with an emphasis on Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to work with Viewpoint, PVault, GCPay
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to be assertive as needed
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a partnering environment
