An Excellent Opportunity

Mountain Valley has an opening for a Registered Nurse in the Martinsville service area to respond to patient calls that are received after business hours. Our weekday and weekend on-call RN team provides prompt 24-hour nursing support for hospice patients from Monday at 5pm through Friday at 8am and Friday at 4 pm through Monday at 8 am. Support may be in the form of telephone triage or face-to-face visits depending on the needs of the patient and family.

Duties

• Responds to calls from patients, families, caregivers. 
• Provide direct nursing and supportive care for terminally ill patients.
• Perform late day admissions and tuck-in visits.
• Recognize, report, and document changes in patient/client condition.

Schedule

• In this position you will be on-call during the scheduled hours and be available to visit patients just in case there is urgent physical and/or psycho-social issues during after regular business hours.
  • 7a - 7p, Saturday, Sunday, Monday 

Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse License
• BLS Certification
• Valid Driver’s License
