Full Time; AM Shift Hours; Monday - Friday

Expected starting wage range is $70,963.88 - $87,594.26. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Benefits Analyst is a member of the Total Rewards team working under the general direction of Benefits Supervisor. The Benefits Analyst uses independent judgment to apply subject matter expertise and benefits consulting to employees, assumes overall responsibility for research, analysis, evaluation, and administration within area of specialization.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • B. S. Degree in Human Resources or related field or five (5) years of experience in lieu of degree required
  • Requires a minimum of five (5) years’ experience with health benefits and retirement plan administration
  • Strong knowledge of benefit laws and regulations
  • Analytical and mathematical skills
  • Bookkeeping experience with strong reconciliation and analysis
  • Applied working knowledge of health, welfare and retirement benefit plans
  • Proven ability to demonstrate customer service and team focus
  • Advance knowledge of HRIS/export interaction
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • A valid California Driver’s License and proof of insurance required.
  • Applicant must be fingerprinted and receive clearance from the Department of Justice
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. If the position requires driving, valid driver’s license, a motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. Additional regulatory, contractual, or local requirements may apply

Preferred:

  • Ultipro experience
  • Professional certification (PHR, SPHR, CEBS preferred)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Demonstrates Telecare mission, purpose, values and beliefs in everyday language and contact with members served, the public and other staff members
  • Manages day-to-day administration of employee health, welfare and retirement benefits including enrollment, changes and termination for all eligible classes of employees. Processes transactions in HRIS system and ensures accurate payroll deductions
  • Calculates domestic partnership imputed income and unemployment claims
  • Reconciles invoices accurately and timely on a monthly basis. Data enters all reconciled records in Lawson- AP system
  • Explains and interprets company insurance programs to employees. Administers continual effective benefit communications to company staff to ensure positive employee response and understanding
  • Supports the Benefit Supervisor in coordinating annual open enrollment, oversees auditing process after Open Enrollment concludes communicating any issues to the Benefits Supervisor working together to resolve
  • Responsible for HRIS benefit information and ensuring data integrity
  • Plays a lead role in collection and analysis of data required for Total Rewards Statements
  • Processes Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability Claims
  • Assures compliance with all state and federal regulations. Researches alternative approaches, makes recommendations and executes design or redesign of programs and processes. Acts as an internal expert and consultant within the areas of Employee Benefits and Retirement Plans.
  • Coordinates Health and Retirement plan audit administration
  • Works with Benefits Supervisor to ensure benefit plans comply with regulatory changes

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, twist, reach, lift and carry items weighing 25 pounds or less; drive, lift, and carry items overhead up to 10 pounds, do simple grasping occasionally, as well as sit frequently.
