Job Description:

Client is seeking a Senior Environmental Geologist, Scientist, or Engineer to fill a position located in our Durango, CO office. Our senior scientists provide technical leadership to project teams. They are subject matter experts in their field of expertise, meaning they are capable of designing projects, conducting and managing interdisciplinary teams, and interpreting and reporting on data. This enables them to correctly and appropriately interpret, analyze, document, and present results to scientists, management, and clients of all levels.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Evaluate and review proposals, provide appropriate solutions to problems, and make decisions by applying scientific and/or engineering principles.
• Work directly with clients to understand needs and provide accurate technical solutions for client consideration.
• Write complex technical and regulatory documents; final reviewer of basic deliverables.
• Act in a technical lead capacity, overseeing programs that include one or more lines of service.
• Outward facing, providing trustworthy and technically complete information to develop relationships and grow revenue.
• Advanced knowledge and application of environmental regulations.
• Identify and implement cost-effective solutions for clients.

REQUIRED

• BS in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or other related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in environmental consulting or related field.
• Experience with regulatory compliance in New Mexico and Colorado.
• Demonstrated technical writing skills.
• Ability to maintain safety awareness and understanding of safe work practices.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information.
• Experience managing teams of scientists.
• Experience developing and managing environmental projects with budgets exceeding $100,000.
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle are required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Legally able to work as a full-time employee in the United States.
• Able to pass drug and alcohol screening and background and driving screening.

PREFERRED

• Prior experience working with oil and gas environmental projects.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
• PE or PG License
• Familiarity with remediation approaches and design

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
