Job Summary:

As a Sr. Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for all aspects of your assigned electrical construction projects. Our expectation is that we exceed our customers’ expectations on any of our projects while adhering to the companies’ core values, safety policies/ OSHA standards, and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, vendors, suppliers, and customers
  • Proactively identifies and vets new business opportunities.
  • Prepares detailed scope documents including RFP’s, RFIs, proposals, and estimates.
  • Participates in pre-bid, post-bid, and project take-off meetings.
  • Ensures an effective hand-off to field operations upon completion of the estimating process.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of market factors (pricing, materials, labor, etc.).
  • Utilizes internal systems to maintain project documentation and historical trends.
  • Perform value engineering analysis.
  • Project Assessment: Reviewing project plans, specifications, and blueprints to understand the scope of work and materials required.
  • Cost Estimation: Analyzing the project requirements to estimate the labor, materials, and all costs needed for electrical installations.
  • Bid Preparation: Develop detailed cost estimates to submit competitive bids for projects. This involves creating pricing proposals and ensuring accuracy in estimates.
  • Vendor and Supplier Relations: Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing for materials and services required for the project.
  • Cost Analysis: Conducting cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project costs while maintaining quality and compliance with regulations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Staying updated on electrical codes and regulations to ensure estimates align with legal requirements.
  • Documentation: Maintaining records of cost estimates, project documentation, and bid submissions.
  • Communication: Collaborating with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to clarify project details and address any cost-related questions or concerns.
  • Cost Tracking: Monitoring project costs throughout the construction phase and making necessary adjustments to the estimate if there are changes or unforeseen issues.
  • Budgeting: Develop project budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Risk Assessment: Identifying potential risks that could affect project costs and proposing strategies to mitigate them.
  • War room projects with PM’s before estimates are sent at least 24 hours prior to due date
  • Walk projects a minimum of every 2 months
  • Perform additional assignments per Supervisor’s direction.

Education Level:

High School Diploma or GED

Construction degree preferred but not required

Experience Desired:

  • 8 years of electrical estimating experience
  • Proven success in estimating projects up to 5 Mil
  • Estimating experience, with estimating software (Accubid, ConEst, Vision, McCormicks, etc).
  • Computer Ease/Bluebeam experience a plus
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specs

Skills Required:

  • Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and other O365 Suite applications.
  • Continuous Learning: Staying updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in electrical estimation.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills to work efficiently with contractors, architects, and other professionals that are involved in construction projects.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills to ensure calculations are accurate and correct to keep jobs profitable.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organization and time management skills to ensure timely submittal of project bids with the ability to maintain composure with multiple projects.
  • Strong sense of Servant Leadership.
  • Valid drivers license with clean record.
  • Complex understanding of electrical industry parts and materials.
  • Ability to act in safe matter and follow safety guidelines including documenting when unsafe conditions exist.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Note: Applicants must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Salary: $66,988.00 - $72,943.00 per year
