TEKsystems is Hiring a Low Voltage Technician Near Sandston, VA

Job Description:

We have multiple needs open for data center technicians. These technicians will be doing IT cabling on a grand scale. We have an exclusive contract to build the cable infrastructure for a large data center in Richmond, VA. We have openings for entry level and mid-level technicians!

Your role will be to assist the higher-level techs and the team leads in building out the infrastructure to include pulling cable, pulling fiber, learning color codes, learning how to punch down and terminate cable & fiber, installing cable trays and pathways, and build server racks, and assisting with electronic security installation.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Assist with running, terminating, and installing IT cabling (Cat5, Cat6, Coaxial, and Fiber Optics)

2. Install grounding for server racks, equipment, and cable as required.

3. Perform fire-stopping procedures on fire walls, install sleeves, and on low voltage devices

4. Terminate low-voltage devices and IT hardware. (Cameras, servers, switches, etc.)

5. Follow blueprints precisely to ensure the work is being carried out correctly.

6. Fully complete all paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers and others as required).

7. Adhere to and participate in all company, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.

8. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Punctual and team player, able to flexible on hours. Looking for candidates that don't mind working with their hands and who know how to use basic hand/power tools.

Work Environment:

You will be working in a large data center in Richmond, VA. Typically these locations are under construction of some form. Must be comfortable with heights.

Need to be able to handle a little organization and occasional yelling. Candidates must be comfortable wearing PPE (steel toe boots, vest, hard hat, goggles/glasses, and gloves)
