Seeking a Power BI Consultant
Duration- 8 months through 12/31/24, strong chance for 1 year extension or conversion
Locations- 100% remote
Must have:
Power BI- 6 years of experience
Banking/Financial Services
Experience working in the finance/accounting space within a bank (General ledger, P&L, liquidity, etc.)
Transformation experience. (Consolidating hundreds of reports to much fewer)
Corporate enterprise company environment
Sr. Level- Consultative, strong technically, can solution with customer and train users. Good soft skills with customer, Need to be able to engage with customer and solution
Nice to have:
Power Tools (Power Automate, Power Query, Power Apps)
DAX, MDX
Need to have experience with financial reporting (ideally Essbase data as well)
Job scope
Company is seeking a Sr. Power BI Consultant who will be responsible for partnering with LOB and functional Finance/Accounting teams in their work to transform and automate manual Excel reporting processes using a range of Microsoft Power Platform tools, with a strong focus on Power BI, Power Query, Power BI data modeling, DAX, MDX, and Power Automate. This role will need to bring these capabilities together to develop the right assessment criteria to deploy the right technologies to the right use cases. They will also need a track record of empowering business teams to develop their own reporting within a controlled framework. The goal will be to provide easily accessible and high-quality information to stakeholders with greater business insight to enhance value creation from decision outcomes.

Problem
This area has thousands of reports and they need to automate more reports instead of building out individual reports, which is too expensive and too time consuming. Need to give LOBs access to manipulate the front end of their own reports and his team will make sure the back end data sourcing is accurate. Manager wants to create an enablement model instead of a delivery model. They need to figure out how to create a catalog of report types, delivery accelerators
1. Need to solution with LOBs
2. Then need to build out data sourcing with Power BI, Power Tools and MDX. Will set up data flows and data sets, customer hierarchies.
3. Then train the LOB leads how to manipulate the reports for their preferences, will coach and train LOBs

In this role, you will:
Data Transformation and Modeling: Utilize Power Query and Power BI data modeling to clean, transform, and structure data for reporting purposes.
Dashboard and Report Development: Partner with business teams to advise on development of interactive and visually appealing Power BI reports and dashboards that convey meaningful insights to stakeholders.
DAX and MDX Expertise: Create and optimize DAX and MDX calculations, measures, and queries for complex data analysis and reporting requirements.
Excel to Power BI Migration: Support business teams transform existing manual Excel reports into automated Power BI solutions for improved efficiency.
Automated Data Refresh: Implement scheduled data refresh processes and automate data updates to ensure reports are always up-to-date.
Power Automate Integration: Leverage Power Automate to automate workflows, data extraction, and report distribution.
Performance Optimization: Optimize Power BI reports for efficient data retrieval and enhanced user experience.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their reporting needs and develop solutions that align with business objectives.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of data transformation, data modeling, and report development processes for reference and training.
