The role is fully remote but it's important to note that customer travel may be up to 50% - please do not apply if you are not comfortable with frequent travel.

Description:
Data Center Migrations
Scope Details
As a Senior Consultant (Data Center Migration Lead), you will be responsible for tracking, managing, and reporting on all three phases of our data center migration approach. The three phases consist of Discovery & Analysis (D&A), Planning and Execution. D&A focuses on establishing business and technical requirements to ensure they are well understood and in alignment with migration and business continuity strategies. Detailed discovery of IT applications and systems with an emphasis on their dependencies is included here. Planning confirms the target data center facility is ready to accept the migrated infrastructure and the that steps required to migrate the customer's respective applications have been documented and assigned to appropriate resources. Lastly, Migration Execution becomes a mechanical process with disciplined execution of the migrations as documented in the previous phase. A Senior Consultant will manage/coordinate the migration event, document all issues that arise including resolutions, and provide migration status on a regular schedule. Please note customer travel may be up to 50%.
You will:
Develop Data Collection Plans
Facilitate application data collection interviews
Develop data collection workbooks and client presentations
Lead the collection of application and infrastructure data and interdependency attributes
Collect and document technical architecture information
Develop detailed migration execution runbooks for each Migration Event
Collect the From/To information and integrate into Run Books
Collect application contingency plans and integrate into Run Books
Collect application test plans and integrate into Run Books
Lead / Conduct TableTop Exercises to validate execution plans
Review and update Run Book as appropriate
Track the completion of Pre-Migration Tasks
Develop Command Center documentation for each Migration Event
Create the Go/No-Go document and facilitate the Go/No-Go meetings
Manage the execution of the Run Book including coordinating with the appropriate vendors and client SME's
Manage status communications including proof-reading any and all status emails
Assist with documenting issues in the Issues Log
Act as an Escalation Point
Document all Lessons Learned to review with the client
Essential Requirements
8 years of professional experience in customer facing IT roles with a bachelor's degree or commensurate experience
5 years of experience performing data center migrations
Conveys a sense of urgency and drives issues to closure
Possess up-to-date industry and technical knowledge
Regarded as an expert in technical/functional area
Produces high quality work deliverables
Desirable Requirements
Experience with developing and delivering DC Strategies
Familiarity with DC Facilities assessments
Keeps up to date on professional and technical developments
Develops relevant skills in new technology
Pursues learning and self-development
