JOB : DOT Fleet Compliance Manager

Location : Chicago Heights, IL

Employment Type: On-site Full-time.

Position Overview:

The safety and compliance manager are responsible for streamlining safety processes and procedures and implementing updates regarding compliance with all federal, state and local laws and company policies and regulations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work in unison with HR and DOT Employment Manager to ensure driver safety.
• Create and maintain Truck and Trailer files, ensure all paperwork is up to date.
• Remain current on changes to and maintain a library of federal, state, and local transportation and environmental regulations.
• Receive all accident calls and work with dispatch and equipment personnel to get equipment recovered and repaired in a timely manner.
• Perform all compliance filings, including vehicle license plating, and registrations mileage reporting, IFTA filings.
• Ensure annual vehicle inspections are performed.
• Ensure all safety, compliance, and records (including violations and disciplinary actions taken) are documented.

Job Qualifications

• 2 plus years related experience or training in the transportation industry.
• Familiarity with the trucking industry and an understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulations
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and data base programs
• Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to multitask and prioritize work.
• Must be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to exercise discretion when dealing with sensitive issues.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
