Overview:

As a Co-op student in our South Carolina Vinyl Manufacturing facility, you will develop recommendations for improvements in all areas of production. You will leave with an understanding of the Vinyl Manufacturing operation. You understand the communication between functional areas as well as floor personnel and be able to navigate successfully within a plant environment. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct a clean out and change over time study.
• Aid in the conversion of existing batch cards to the new automated blender format.
• Aid in improving blender cycle times.
• Support net run rate improvement initiative across the department.
• Aid in the review of daily production reports.
• Aid in data collection for FG18 process improvement.
• Assist with writing or updating SOPs
• Review Start up and Shutdown procedures and methods to create best practices.
• Learn the process for Vinyl Manufacturing by observing the functions from the eyes of assigned operators and leads.
• Work with floor personnel to compare current methods with best practices.
• Present finding to Co-Op Team and mentor.

Qualifications:

• Co-op, Summer– full time, Monday- Friday
• Major Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
