Position Title: Senior Project Manager - SaaS Implementation

Location: [Salem, Oregon]

We are a state agency committed to delivering high-quality services through technological innovation. As we embark on a crucial project to replace our legacy system with a cutting-edge SaaS solution, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead this initiative.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Management:
  • Develop a comprehensive project plan in alignment with PMI PMBOK Standards and the EIS Stage Gate process.
  • Prepare necessary artifacts for EIS Stage Gate endorsements.
  • Create and maintain the Project Implementation Plan.
  • Coordinate with the vendor to plan and execute implementation activities.
  • Lead the project from requirements discovery to deployment, ensuring adherence to schedules, scope, and budget.
  • Documentation:
  • Generate project documents essential for immediate and future project management activities.
  • Maintain project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
  • Effectively communicate project needs and issues with employees, stakeholders, and contractors.
  • Schedule and lead regular meetings to report progress and address concerns.
  • Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and the vendor.
  • Team Leadership and Motivation:
  • Provide purpose, direction, and motivation to the project team to ensure maximum performance.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Risk Management and Change Control:
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, following best practices in Risk Management.
  • Implement effective Change Control processes to manage scope, schedule, and budget changes.
  • Vendor and Resource Coordination:
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure project tasks are completed within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Maintain relationships with relevant client stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and changes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of recent experience in planning and managing agency-wide core business system replacement projects.
  • PMI or PMP Project Management Certification.
  • Strong proficiency in creating and maintaining project documentation following PMBOK Standards and EIS Stage Gate process.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to lead a project team with defined requirements from inception to deployment.
  • Proficiency in risk management, change control, and vendor management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
