Position: Staff Nurse - Dialysis Care
Job Summary:
Join our team as a contract Staff Nurse specializing in Dialysis Care. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you'll collaborate with fellow providers to ensure exceptional patient care. Your role will encompass patient education, treatment coordination, and fostering patient independence.
Contract: 12 weeks
Schedule: 12 hour shifts; 36 hours per week
Pay: $69/hr
Location: Gilroy, CA

Key Responsibilities:
Minimum Requirements:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Assess and document patient responses to renal treatments
- Individualize treatments based on patient conditions
- Administer medications safely, educating patients on their use
- Collect and process laboratory specimens
- Collaborate with the healthcare team on abnormal findings
- Delegate responsibilities effectively, ensuring tasks are completed
- Promote patient education and self-management
- Adhere to standards of conduct and professionalism
- Participate in CPR and quality assurance programs
- Maintain competence through ongoing education
- Foster a safe patient environment
- Perform other assigned duties
Minimum Requirements:
- Understanding of the Nurse Practice Act
- Proficiency in computer skills (e.g., Outlook, Word)
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Knowledge of basic renal function and consequences of renal failure
- Compliance with infection control procedures
- Utilization of technology for documentation and decision-making
- California state License as a Registered Nurse
- Common knowledge base relevant to adult kidney patient care
- BLS through AHA
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN degree
- Five years of Dialysis RN experience; 3 months of experience in HD, PD, or HHD.
