Position Summary:

The Process Engineering & OpEx Manager is responsible for directing, driving, and supporting process improvement activity at Tedia, Will work with other department managers to plan, coordinate, and implement all process improvement programs to ensure maximum operational and cost efficiency. Will focus on implementation and supporting cost-saving capital projects in the areas of Production, Shipping, and Quality Assurance, but may also develop improvement programs in administrative areas. The implementation of such projects includes long-term monitoring of program effectiveness through statistical reporting and analysis as well as other methods. 

Essential Duties:

  • Develop and implement an Operational Excellence strategy aligned with organization goals.
  • Implement capital and operational improvements in day-to-day production and shipping activities (working with departments managers) in order to achieve maximum utilization of resources, high product quality and low cost of manufacture. 
  • Conduct detailed analysis of current processes and identify opportunities for improvement that are aligned with the organization’s 5-year strategic goals.
  • Implement and monitor 6 Sigma methodologies to enhance process efficiency and reduce operational costs. 
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPI’s) to measure the success of operational excellence initiatives. 
  • Analyze data trends to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversees the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects with a focus on process optimization. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met. 
  • Provide training programs on Six Sigma principals and methodologies to enhance the skills of the workforce. 
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the engineering and operations teams.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. 
  • Implement quality management systems to drive excellence in product quality. 
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with engineering and operational processes.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to enhance overall operational resilience. 
  • Work with production manager to establish and maintain procedures to inspect, calibrate and keep records for all equipment. Ensure their optimum performance by scheduling preventive maintenance,

and repair.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Process Engineering.

  • Train, Supervise and manage all process engineers within the organization.
  • Provide regular performance evaluation, feedback, and direction to subordinates.
  • Develop subordinates’ skills and encourage their growth.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Proven project leadership skills and accomplishments.
  • Success in implementing ideas and influencing people in a team environment.
  • BS or higher degree in engineering and 5 years demonstrated management experience.
  • Strong skills in planning, analysis, organization, and problem solving.
  • Understand the total impact of the program on the entire organization and optimize its integration into the departments.
  • Work independently, analyze problems and make decisions with minimal management intervention, consistent with established policies.
  • Command of statistical process control tools to increase efficiency of design and process monitoring.
  • Serve as team facilitator and present training to all levels of employees.
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems, ISO and Strategic Planning process.
  • Familiarity with computers (SAP, Windows, Microsoft products)
  • Strong communication skills to work with employees, contractors, and vendors.

Preferred Education and Experience:

MBA is highly desirable.

6 Sigma black belt.

Lane Manufacturing Certified.
