FRONT-END DEVELOPER (SENIOR INFORMATION ANALYST)

Under the supervision of the Chief Data and Information Analyst, the Front-End Developer is responsible for optimizing application performance and creating visually appealing user interfaces. This position works closely with back-end developers and stakeholders to understand feature requirements and objectives. The front-end developer will utilize their front-end experience to implement high-quality, scalable, and responsive applications.
The Center for Information Technology & Analytics (CITA) conducts data analytics in support of OIG’s mission and manages OIG’s structural and operational IT infrastructure. In addition, CITA compiles large data sets for statistical models, trends, predictions, and analyses that enable OIG to develop cases, conduct citywide program reviews and audits, and monitor citywide hiring practices.

· Perform related duties as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree plus two years of work experience in data analysis/management OR fact-finding research, analysis, and reporting, of which one year is in programming and modifying computer applications, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Experience in Computer Science
· Experience with front end frameworks and libraries
· Experience with desktop, mobile and responsive web design
· Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other web-oriented technologies
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
ANNUAL SALARY: Range: $74,244 – $120,960 (annual increases)
Starting $74,244 (non-negotiable); post-successful six-month review: $77,796
TRAVEL AND SCHEDULE: Travel outside Chicago is not required.
Standard work hours are 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; flexibility permitted.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:
Employees must be a resident of the City of Chicago and proof of residency is required at the commencement of employment.
KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ESSAY REQUIREMENT:
