Zund Operator
Position Overview
The responsibilities of a Zund Operator are to set up and operate die cutting equipment and ensure the daily schedule is met in a fast-paced printing environment.
Essential Job Functions
Effectively run all digital die cutting equipment, including high resolution color digital printers
Ability to complete the job according to customer specifications by producing quality work and performing quality checks
Monitor the production throughout the run for quality, maintaining all required samples as designated by the customer and procedures
Ability for standard set ups, adjustments and operating characteristics of equipment and skills to perform standard adjustments
Ability to cut plain fabric, liners and boxes
Perform Thru-cuts on vinyl and boards
Ability to adjust image position, color quality, resolution, perforations and folds on paper
Responsible for the print of high quality graphics using large format digital printer
Perform basic preventative maintenance in accordance with production schedule
Maintain a clean and organized work area and press
Perform other duties, as required
Qualifications
Excellent judgement of color, design, and printing quality
Knowledge of color theory and ability to make adjustments and color corrections when operating the equipment
Knowledge of best practices for all stock materials
Proficient in Zund Cut Queue and Cut Center programs
Basic computer knowledge
Good math skills, time management, verbal and written communication
Ability to multi-task various projects with high level of detail
Critical thinking and problem solving skills
Mechanically inclined and production oriented.
Organized and deadline oriented
Attention to detail
Education and Experience
High School Diploma/GED
CNC or Digital Die Cut experience, preferred
Imaging related experience, preferred
Physical Demands
Requires standing, walking or bending for entire shift.
Ability to frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Work Conditions
Overtime (or ability to work irregular hours) may be required to meet project deadlines.
Some travel may be required for the purpose of meeting with clients, stakeholders, on-site show support or off-site personnel / management.
