TECO Westinghouse is Hiring a Receiving Warehouse Team lead Near Round Rock, TX

SUMMARY Leads and coordinates to receive, store and issue materials required for the building of product at TECO Westinghouse. Receives and distributes a wide variety of tooling and supplies. Performs transactions in the computer system to receive, store and issue. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Unload materials from delivery equipment and inspect for visual damage. Coordinate the filing of a damage claim, if required, with the traffic specialist. Assist with the daily supervision and coordination of departmental activities as required per individual job functions. Train and develop team members on proper warehouse, procedures, safety and company policies. Helps to establish operational procedures through validation of inbound/outbound shipments, handling and disposition of parts and components while keeping accurate warehouse inventory records. Issue materials to the shop floor or work orders for manufacturing. Work with internal partners to resolve problems and/or discrepancies associated with receipts. Interfacing daily with various departments. Provide leadership support to Warehouse, Material Planning and Operations. Enter receiving, storing and issuing information into SAP. Identify areas for process improvement and work with management to implement efficient warehouse practices to enhance productivity. Assist the Operations and Quality departments as required in overload situations. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position. Compliance with applicable Company policies concerning maintaining a drug-free workplace is required. Compliance with all Company policies is required, including adherence to Company ISO 9001 Standards, the Company Affirmative Action Plan and Company Safety procedures. Incorporate the Standards of Excellence as outlined by TECO-Westinghouse (Pride, Desire, Teamwork, Attention to Detail, and Follow-through) into daily activities to create a Total Quality environment through personal commitment to excellence. Required to obtain in house forklift certification and overhead crane certification. Other functions as required (non-essential functions). SCOPE, PURPOSE, AND FREQUENCY OF CONTACTS Departmental Frequent - Discuss problems with receipts or issues with buyers or production coordinators. Interdepartmental - Frequent - Discuss receipts deliveries or supplies or other items needed. Outside TECO-Westinghouse - Frequent - Work with trucking companies, local vendors, and other service providers. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School diploma or general education degree (GED). Requires 3 years of experience in material handling or related area and ability to learn material transaction concepts plus administrative experience within the materials, planning or related function. Use of the following tools is required: telephones, data entry, office software (MS office), ERP systems. 3 years of experience with SAP preferred. Must be proficient with sit down and stand-up forklift. Must be able to read and identify shipping and warehouse documentation. QUALIFICATIONS Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and guide a team to achieve company goals. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate within the department and to internal partners. Problem-solving skills needed to identify and address issues within warehouse operations and implement efficient solutions. Strong commitment to maintaining high company standards of quality and accuracy within warehouse operations. Knowledge of inventory management best practices and experience in conducting cycle counts and audits. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions through electronic communication or in person interaction.
