Job Title: Senior System Administrator

User Support:
Handle Tier 2 trouble tickets submitted by end users via Service Now.
Perform troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common hardware and software issues.
After hours support
The administrator will be required to work overnight two to three times a week to perform maintenance on broadcast systems, for example, deploying windows security patches and/or upgrading VMware components. The administrator will take compensation time prior or after the scheduled overnight maintenance.
The administrator will also be required to work weekends occasionally to perform maintenance on broadcast systems. Compensation time applies.
The administrator will be on call every other week with an expectation to provide support to our systems after hours
How you ll make an impact:
As the Senior System Administrator, you will join our dynamic team dedicated to Media Content Engineering. This role is responsible for providing innovative solutions for the Broadcast product team and will be responsible for building and managing systems that directly impact content creation, distribution, and live broadcast. This role will be responsible for delivering products and solutions that directly affect revenue.
What you ll do:
As a Senior System Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, and ensuring the reliable operation of computer systems within the broadcast content environment. In addition, you will adhere to standard operating procedures within IT Operations, including staff training and documentation. Specifically, job duties include managing Windows servers & workstations, Linux servers, and the VMware virtual environment and the backend hardware supporting our virtual infrastructures. Your primary goal is to guarantee system uptime, performance, resource allocation, and security align with security standards.
What you'll need:
Windows Server Management:
Build and manage servers running Windows Server 2012 through Windows Server 2022.
Integrate software products seamlessly into the server environment.
Understanding of using SCCM to manage computer objects in a domain.
Ability to create application packages using SCCM and ability to deploy those applications to workstations.
Understanding of network fundamentals, specifically OSI model (TCP/IP Model), subnetting, virtual & physical nic configuration and network troubleshooting commands.
Linux Server Management:
Install/Configure and troubleshoot Linux servers, experience with multiple distributions.
Performs backup/restore/rollback and disaster recovery operations in linux Infrastructure environments.
Communicates with other teams to mitigate any issues with managed environments.
Deploy patches and update applications, maintains package sources and compliance reports, and patches scheduled deployments.
Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
Hardware Management
Working knowledge of Cisco UCS platform including Cisco UCS Manager and firmware upgrades.
Knowledgeable of HP server platform, installing, configuring, and troubleshooting issues.
Active Directory (AD) Administration:
Oversee the AD domain infrastructure.
Manage AD objects, including user accounts and computer objects.
Create, modify, and troubleshoot Group Policy objects.
Knowledgeable about DNS, creating, managing host records and zones.
Proficient with managing DHCP.
Patch Management:
Experience deploying Microsoft & Linux security patches.
Assist in deploying patches to workstations and servers using Ivanti Security Controls.
File Servers and Permissions:
Manage Network File Servers and FTP resources.
Administer end-user accounts and permissions.
VMware Infrastructure:
Responsible for VMware server infrastructure.
Monitor and troubleshoot any issues.
Collaborate with team members to upgrade VMware components.
Provide recommendations including new features, licensing requirements, high-availability, identity integration and risk assessment as appropriate.
Develop and document all aspects of the virtual infrastructure t as well as best practices and operating procedures.
Work with application Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to build and manage virtual machines.
Horizon View Virtual Desktop
Conduct design, implementation, administration, and support of the virtual desktop infrastructure including VMware data-center products, Horizon View and related components, server and data storage systems and systems software.
Monitor the virtual desktop environment and take necessary steps to optimize efficiency and improve performance.
Develop and document all aspects of the VDI environment as well as best practices and operating procedures.
Understand desktop image creation and optimization for optimal workstation performance.
Anti-Virus Management
Understanding of anti-virus or endpoint security management.
Ability to deploy, configure and troubleshoot endpoint security agent to servers and workstations.
User Support:
Handle Tier 2 trouble tickets submitted by end users via Service Now.
Perform troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common hardware and software issues.
What you ll need:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IT systems or equivalent, relevant experience.
5 years of Enterprise Experience with Windows and Linux Administration
Experience with Antivirus deployment and management - SentinelOne experience is a plus
Experience with Vulnerability Management - Tenable Nessus experience is a plus
Experience with CMDB - ServiceNow is a plus
Experince with latest vesrsion of Vsphere 8
Experince with latest vesrsion of Horizon View
Experience with Virtualization, VMware
Experience with Docker containers and orchestration.
Experience with Cisco UCS is a plus.
Experience with scripting skills like Bash, Python, Powershell.
Must be highly self-motivated and able to work independently.
Ability to work as part of a team of different subject matter experts as well as supervise others in design and implementation.
