Techstra Solutions is Hiring a Lead Metadata Management / Data Quality Monitoring Near Pittsburgh, PA

Techstra is seeking an experienced Metadata Management/Data Quality Monitoring Lead with a minimum of 10 years of experience in all phases of data modeling, data warehousing, data mining, data entity analysis, logical database design and relational database definition, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.

Responsibilities: 

  • Ensuring the quality, integrity, and governance of metadata across the organization’s data landscape 

  • Lead a team responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining metadata standards and practices to support data governance, data lineage, and data management activities 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive metadata management strategy aligned with the organizations data governance and data management objectives 

  • Partner with technology and business partners to adhere to metadata standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness of metadata across various data domains and systems 

  • Responsible for managing multiple development projects, often global in scope 

  • Directs and provides guidance on the analysis and design of data models and logical databases at the data element level consistent with the corporate architectural models 

  • Support the design and implementation of metadata repositories and tools to capture, store, and management metadata effectively 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, including data owners, data stewards, and IT teams, to gather metadata requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives 

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance metadata management capabilities, streamline processes, and optimize resource utilization 

  • Support data lineage and impact analysis activities by ensuring the accuracy and completeness of metadata documentation and lineage mappings 
     

Qualifications: 

  • Advanced degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required 

  • 10 years of experience in data modelling/warehousing with related management experience, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus 

  • Experienced hands-on Data and Metadata Management, from concept to implementation with a demonstrable track record of delivery 

  • Recruits, directs, motivates, and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth, and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team Manages multiple data modelling/warehousing teams 

  • Strong stakeholder management and people skills, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities under pressure 

  • Strong analytical and management skills, are familiar with Agile methodology and played an active role in scrums such as backlog refinement, sprint planning and execution 

  • The ability to apply backlog prioritization to define sprint goals and enable iterative deliveries is key 

  • Experience with complex data structures and ingestion methodologies to curate data with an interest in how core areas in applied machine learning such as NLP, computer vision, and personalization can accelerate successful outcomes 

  • People Leadership, be able to inspire and build momentum across a global team but you are also a team player, happy to roll up your sleeves when needed 

  • Collibra implementation experience a plus 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
