StraighterLine is seeking a digital marketing copywriter and SEO Strategist to support the B2C side of the business for website copy and digital campaigns, such as email, paid media, landing page and more. This role will have an emphasis on SEO and performance optimization. Industry knowledge in the edtech space is a plus.
Ideal candidate will live within 90 minutes of Arlington, VA in one of the following states (VA, MD, PA, DC).
Responsibilities

• Collaborate with our marketing team to develop compelling website copy, product positioning materials, and direct response campaigns.
• Research industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes to inform content strategies.
• Write, edit, and proofread website copy, product descriptions, landing pages, and marketing materials (ie. email, paid search, paid social) to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with brand voice and messaging.
• Craft persuasive and high-converting copy for direct response campaigns, including emails, sales pages, and advertisements.
• Optimize website content for UX and SEO to improve search engine visibility and drive organic traffic.
• Conduct regular content audits to assess performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Work closely with designers and other stakeholders to create engaging and visually appealing content.
• Stay up-to-date with best practices in copywriting, content marketing, and direct response strategies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a copywriter, content creator, or similar role, with a focus on website copywriting and direct response marketing.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong understanding of UX and SEO principles and best practices.
• Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas and approaches.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and basic HTML/CSS is a plus.
• A portfolio of past work demonstrating your expertise in website copywriting, marketing positioning, and direct response campaigns.
• Familiarity with educational technology platforms, tools, and products is a plus.
