Senior IT TECHNICIAN (Candidates must be in Bergen or Hudson County, NJ)

Currently seeking a Senior IT support Technician for a full-time with 6 years’ experience in IT support. You would be responsible for supporting our clients with their IT needs.

Overall Position Description:

Our IT Support Engineers are involved in technical support, providing remote and in-person technical assistance. You will be expected to provide support to all desktop, laptop and mobile device users as well as the array of applications that make up our clients’ infrastructure. You will also work with systems and network to ensure efficient and optimal operation of our clients computing environment. You will also get involved in recommending and implementing corrective solutions. You must be customer service oriented with strong oral, verbal and written communication skills, and familiar with IT systems and software applications.

Candidate Profile:

  • Prior IT consulting and help desk experience
  • Available to work full-time and must have SS#
  • Ability to setup/ troubleshoot connectivity, firewalls, networks.
  • Provide technical assistance and support for clients and be able to trouble shoot and resolve problems quickly and efficiently
  • Walk end users through problems and follow up to ensure that the problem has been resolved
  • You must have a expert level understanding of IT systems such as servers, network, backups, connectivity and applications.
  • You must be eager to Learn, well organized, great communication skills with clients and outstanding attitude when dealing with and supporting clients under difficult help desk situations.
  • A car for reliable transportation to be able to get to client sites as needed on a daily basis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills with strong teamwork ability

Technical Requirements:

  • MS Active Directory operation and troubleshooting
  • Active Directory (creating users, resetting passwords, adding or removing pc's from the domain/network)
  • MS windows desktop and server O/S
  • routing, switching, Network security knowledge (firewalls, content filters)
  • Networking hardware, cabling, testing, upgrading and troubleshooting. DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, Routing
  • Network printers, computer hardware
  • Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with Virtualization such as VMWare, Hyper-V is a plus

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under tight deadlines

  • Ability to seize initiative and take responsibility
  • Candidates must be self-motivated, and personable
  • Reliable, on time, and able to complete tasks on their own
  • Able to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language with proficiency
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to interact with personnel at all levels
  • Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects; ability to work with little direction

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
