JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models or descriptions and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts
• Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations
• Measures, marks and scribes metal stock for machining
• Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders
• Verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications
• Maintains all production tooling
• Fabrication of any extra tooling needed
• Diagnose urgent tooling issues
• Other duties may be assigned by supervision / management as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• State accredited Tool and Die Journeyman card or equivalent on-the-job experience
• Such experience evaluated at time of hire by the Tool Room Supervisor and upper management
• Knowledge of metal working and metal working equipment
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a deadline oriented environment and display good decision making skills
• Compressed Gas, Hot Work, Welding Safety training
• Cranes Overhead and Gantry training
• Tow Motor Certification
• Tool Maker OJT
