Job Purpose
The SDS Global Field Support Specialist position is the focal point for all SDS Field Support. This position is critical to help ensure a consistent approach is taken across the globe for offshore operations.
Responsibilities include:
Job Description
  • Incorporate best practices into global standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guides
  • Provide second-line support to Service Centers for complex downtime events
  • Provide guidance to Service Centers on RCAs, as required. Develop solutions to problems by analyzing, interpreting and evaluating data. Anticipates potential problems and identifies and proposes required preventive actions.
  • Monitoring offshore performance monthly and identify improvement opportunities
  • Provide operational input for design reviews and project inquiries
  • Disseminate learnings to TSPs, Engineers, and associated Service Centers (FSQRs or similar)
  • Maintain engagement with all SDS Service Centers and multiple key internal and external customer contacts
  • Acting as a Technology Expert within the SDS Value Stream Group. Proposes new ideas for Emerging Technology and reduction of waste
  • Directly work with management on Digitization ideas and implementation
  • Oversee/mentor new talent within the group to meet continuous and growing business needs
  • Able to work independently on complex tasks without direct supervision
  • Potential for offsite and international travel
  • Fully competent in shop/lab assembly or field installation or testing, with ability to lead. Able to identify and troubleshoot system issues
  • Attend internal and external meetings and serve as TechnipFMC technical focal point for offshore operations
  • Provide guidance and motivation to SDS Value Stream team members and build effective relationships with peers, co-workers, customers, and industry representatives.
You are meant for this job if:
Basic/required:
  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering highly preferred (Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering)
  • 10 years previous experience in industry preferred, 5 years experience in subsea wellhead field or shop environment required
  • Deep understanding of offshore drilling operations and TechnipFMC Wellhead Systems and Tooling
  • Ability to use 2D and 3D modeling software to analyze downtime events (NX and AutoCAD preferred)
  • Ability to understand and interpret large data sets (PowerBI preferred)
  • Foundational awareness of relevant industry standards related to SDS (API 5DP, TH Hill DS-1, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are important
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment is important
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and coaching, and respond appropriately
  • Ability to work in a remote environment with no supervision
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Spend 80 - 90 percent of time in an office environment and 10 -20% in shop or field environment supporting RCAs or offshore downtime events. Hybrid work environment and setup.
  • Office environment requires sitting, operating a computer, walking and some lifting. Hands-on labor in shop and/or field environment, which requires lifting, walking, stooping, bending, and some climbing.
