Job Purpose:

Hiring Applications Engineering Specialist to join the team in Stephenville, TX! This position will be responsible for being a technical resource in the Inside Sales department to support the organization in resolving complex technical issues as they arise. This position troubleshoots to resolve issues and works with internal technical resources as needed. The position assesses the risk of unfamiliar technical applications while displaying an ability to know when to seek Engineering/Manufacturing/Planning/Purchasing/Production assistance to complete costing and develop quotations based on capacity and capability requirements. The position is a customer-facing role that involves working with end users and channel partners. The main focus is to work closely with the Inside Sales group to manage orders, determine the complexity of quotation requests, and take the lead with requests for ETO and MTO parts that do not exist in SAP.

Job Description:

• Leverage application and field engineering background to qualify opportunities and determine product offerings based on customer technical requirements.
• Respond to customer application questions or seek technical assistance for unfamiliar applications in preparation to complete cost estimations and final quotations that are typically for non-standard, low-volume products that require technical engineering knowledge for completion.
• Works with Engineering, Quality Control, Sales Management, Customer Service, and the Planning Group to resolve cost, pricing, and lead time issues that negatively impact customer success and profitability.
• Works with customers and TechnipFMC Sales Management to provide final quotations for ETO and MTO parts that do not exist in SAP.
• Works with internal and external technical resources and coordinates information to ensure that customer specifications are thoroughly reviewed, product application requirements are clarified, exceptions and documentation requirements are noted and processed accurately.
• Works to build strong working relationships and technical support with all customers, internal and external (customer facing role).
• Verifies data and cost information in business systems, engineering descriptions, manufacturing routings, purchase costs, and sales prices.
• Works with technical resources to provide alternative application solutions that utilize existing product offerings and/or inventory.
• Utilizes benchmarking tools to understand gaps in costs as well as understanding cost competitiveness within the marketplace.
• Works with Engineering and Production to develop advanced working knowledge of products.
• Utilized the Salesforce CRM system for internal/external customer communication based on established processes and procedures. (Salesforce is the tool) Experience in Salesforce is a plus.

You are meant for this job if:

• 2-5 years background in field/applications engineering
• A bachelor’s degree is required, and a degree in a technical field is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in Manufacturing, or related technical fields.
• 8-9 years of experience is acceptable in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
• Must be systems/process-minded to take a non-reoccurring problem and produce a solution with limited supervision.

• Must have knowledge of manufacturing processes and exposure to cost accounting principles to understand key cost drivers for assigned product lines. Some previous cost estimating and project management are preferred.
• Familiarity with TechnipFMC products and applications and knowledge of competitor products are preferred.
• Must possess a valid DL.

• Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to determine customer application needs.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products (especially Excel) and SAP Business System (or experience with another ERP system).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (technical writing skills and/or bilingual language skills a plus). Excellent interpersonal and interaction skills.
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a changing, fast-paced work environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $79,700.00 - $113,900.00 per year
