Responsibilities

Technica is seeking an Information Assurance/Security Specialist to support a large Air Force IT enterprise Cyber Weapons System Program in San Antonio, TX.

The Information Assurance/Security Specialist is Key to the Program and will work across the program to develop operational use cases to guide the test and evaluation of weapon system enhancements with a focus on cyber security and vulnerability hunting requirements. They will assist the Government Test Manager in interpreting test results and assessing the operational impact of test defects.

The Information Assurance/Security Specialist will team with other Cyber Engineers to develop user's manuals, crew positional guides, and other documents intended to aid operators and maintainers of the Weapon System in the performance of their jobs.

The Information Assurance/Security Specialist will be a user advocate for Cyber in integrated test team {ITT) meetings, engineering review board (ERB) meetings, requirements refinement activities and the configuration control board (CCB) evaluation of change requests. On matters of Information Assurance and Cyber the Information Assurance/Security Specialist will be a liaison to the user community and provide the Lead Information Assurance/Security Specialist, Program Manager and engineering team with user priorities, concerns, and changing mission parameters that may affect current weapon system enhancement and deployment activities. Supports the Government Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and acts as a cybersecurity technical advisor to the Lead Information Assurance/Security Specialist, Program Manager (PM), Lead Engineer (LE) and other Team members.

The Information Assurance/Security Specialist shall team with other IA personnel to maintain the authorization of the system throughout its lifecycle. They shall act as a contractor Information Assurance Officer (IAO)/ISSO for the Weapon System. Provides support and technical expertise related to Defense in Depth principles and technology in security engineering designs and implementation. Responsible for supporting Authority to Operate (ATO) efforts.

The position will be located in San Antonio, TX and may support a hybrid work schedule, with the exception of full-time on-site work required to support duties within a SCIF. The final approved work schedule arrangement will be coordinated with the IA Lead.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT field with 8 years’ experience, or Master’s with 5 years’ experience, or PhD with 0 years’ experience
  • Must in depth experience with DoDI 01, Cybersecurity, DODI 8510.01Risk Management Framework
  • Must have knowledge on how to use and enter information to the Enterprise Information Technology Data Repository (EITDR), eMASS and XACTA.
  • Assists with the preparation and review of Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) documentation and tracks compliance with DoDI 01 requirements for IA training.
  • Must be knowledgeable of appropriate NIST Special Publications and Security Controls and the DoD A&A/C&A processes.
  • Ability to perform and evaluate Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) scans and ACAS scans.
  • Advance MS Office skills
  • Ability to understand / evaluate Program and Cyber reports and documents to include:
  • Anti-Tamper Plan (ATP)
  • Authority to Test (ATT)
  • Authority to Operate (ATO)
  • Authority to Connect (ATC)
  • Mission Impact Memorandum (MIM)
  • Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M)
  • Program Protection Plan (PPP)
  • System Security Authorization Agreement (SSAA)
  • System Security Plan
  • Urgent Interim Authorization Request (UIAR)
  • No Security Impact (NSI) Letter
  • Capable of working directly with AF customers and others
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired

  • Experience with or working knowledge of Agile software and product development processes (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD))
  • Experience with or working knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprise (SAFe)
  • Experience with or working knowledge of agile management tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • 8570/8140 IAT-Level II in accordance with DoDI 8140.01 preferred
  • Agile Scrum or SAFe related certifications preferred.

Certifications

  • 8570/8140 IAM-Level III Certification (Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or GIAC Security Leadership (GSLC))
  • Complete the Air Force Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)/ Information System Security Manager (ISSM) Foundation Course within 6 months.
  • Obtain ACAS certification within six months.
